Meet the artist:
Anastassiya Petrova is a jazz pianist/organist from Kazakhstan currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Throughout her musical career, she has been given opportunities to share the stage with renowned musicians such as Noah Preminger, Allan Chase, Patricia Perez, Ben Street, Adam Cruz, Marco Pignataro, Ellis Hall, Catherine Russell, and others. She participated in international festivals such as Umbria Jazz Festival 2013 (Italy), Wave of Ideas 2015 (Bulgaria), Panama Jazz Festival 2020, 2021 (Panama), Beantown Jazz Festival 2018 (Boston, MA), Monterey Jazz Festival 2018 (Monterey, CA), and appeared at “The Voice” TV show in Kazakhstan and TEDx Talks at Suffolk University. Anastassiya recently completed a master’s degree in Global Jazz Performance at Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
In 2019 She was awarded with a DownBeat Student Music Award for the best Graduate Arrangement and in 2020 received a grand-prix at the International Jazz Bridge Competition as a pianist, composer, and arranger. Her influences include contemporary jazz pianists Danilo Perez, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock, and jazz organists such as Larry Goldings, Jack McDuff, and Joey DeFrancesco. In the future she plans to release her debut album, conduct workshops, perform all over the world, and potentially open an online music school.
